An Orwellian nation of Obamathink

An Orwellian nation of Obamathink

The nightmare societies portrayed in the George Orwell novels "Nineteen Eighty-Four" and "Animal Farm" gave us the word "Orwellian." That adjective reflects a vast government's efforts not just to deceive and control the people, but also to do so by reinventing the meaning of ordinary words while rewriting the past itself.

Concealing Evil

Imagine there are several elderly widows in your neighborhood. They have neither the strength to mow their lawns, clean their windows and perform other household tasks nor the financial means to hire someone to help them. Here's a question that I'm almost afraid to ask: Would you support a government mandate that forces you or one of your neighbors to mow these elderly widows' lawns, clean their windows and perform other household tasks?

Warming or cooling, it's just weather

You readers who have lived in the Washington area since the 1970s will remember the frigid winters back then. They lasted for months and dumped foot after foot of snow. The biggest lakes in the area froze solid - so solid that parents let their children play hockey on them.

Next up: Political TV ads directed to specific homes
The days when political campaigns would try to make inroads with demographic groups such as soccer moms or white working-class voters are gone. Now, the operatives are targeting specific individuals.

Obama's War on the First Amendment
When Obama said he planned to "fundamentally transform" the U.S., he wasn't referring only to spreading the wealth around or even to conforming our trade regulations to the dictates of globalist busybodies.
