Speaker Pelosi, Tear Down This Wall!
By Rep. Jed Hensarling

For weeks (since the House abruptly adjourned for the summer), Republicans have been in Washington demanding Speaker Pelosi to allow an up or down vote to free America's own energy from the Democrats' embargo and ease the pain that Americans currently face at the pump.

Rather than offer solutions, Speaker Pelosi continues to insult the intelligence of hardworking Americans struggling to pay historically high energy prices. Members of Congress ought to do the jobs they were sent to do and remain in Washington until a solution to the country's energy crisis is passed. Instead, Speaker Pelosi adjourned the House of Representatives for five weeks. Though she might have made environmentalists proud by turning off the floor lights, CSPAN cameras, and microphones behind her, they could not have been thrilled to watch her hop into her gas tax-exempt government SUV (no doubt with its tires correctly inflated) and her Air Force jet to go on a five-week, nationwide book tour. Her actions seem a little too far removed from the pain that hardworking Americans are feeling from high energy costs for comfort.

ALERT: Is Pelosi's Change of Heart on Drilling a "HOAX?"

It appears that Nancy Pelosi, after hearing the demands of the American people, has had a change of heart is now stating that she will allow a vote on more domestic energy productions.

But is her change of heart legit or just a "hoax" on the American people?

Remember what happened last time Pelosi vote to permit a Congressional vote on drilling.  She hurriedly cut off debate, shut off the lights, turned off the microphones, and gaveled the House of Representative to adjournment for a five-week vacation.

Hold Nancy Pelosi accountable!

5. FALN, Holder, and Obama: The Price Paid by One 'Ordinary American'
by Joseph F. Connor

As an "ordinary American," I sincerely question whether Barack Obama has the judgment to be president. His lack of judgment in choosing Eric Holder as a top adviser on his campaign -- the man partly responsible for pardoning terrorists who proudly claimed responsibility for my father's murder -- serves as primary evidence supporting  that judgment.

4. John McCain: The Pro-Life Candidate
by Martha Zoller

was a late comer to the pro-life movement.  I never believed that abortion was right, but I bought into the line of "we shouldn't tell other people what to do with their bodies." I know it seems so lame now, as I am very close to my 49th birthday.  The day I had the first sonogram of my daughter, Suzanne, was the day I realized I was wrong about abortion and was thankful I had never had to make that "choice." The site of that bright beating heat in the middle of the grainy picture converted me in more ways than one.

3. No Whiners Allowed
by Ted Nugent

There is no whining allowed in my world. I have no time or interest in suffering spineless whiners and complainers.

2. Fear the Government That Fears Your Gun
by A.W.R. Hawkins

In West Texas, it was not uncommon to see the bumper sticker "fear the government that fears your gun" on a lot of pick-up trucks during both terms of the Clinton administration. Like the rest of the South and much of the Midwest, we were hypersensitive to the thought of having our right to keep and bear arms infringed upon in any way. Moreover, common sense and annual FBI crime statistics taught us that 99.9% of the population only used their guns for defensive reasons, thus we were particularly leery of an administration that sought to take away our instruments of self-defense. Yet as bad as Clinton was, his push to disarm the American people would pale in comparison to what we'd see from a President Barack Obama, a man who not only wants to disarm the American people, but America's allies as well.

1. McCain's Saddleback Grand Slam
by Jed Babbin

Barack Obama bumped into something hard on Saturday night.  The nuanced naif of Illinois preceded -- in Paris Hilton's wonderful snark -- the "wrinkly white-haired dude" in Pastor Rick Warren's civility summit and came up very short.
